YouGov (via Our World in Data), "How worried are Americans about their work being automated?", January 2021 through January 2026. Each calendar year shows the mean of the January and July survey waves where both exist; sample sizes are the mean of the unweighted counts. Years are plotted in descending order.
Each chart stacks four response categories, with "Worried" categories in red to the left of zero and "Not worried" categories in blue to the right. "Don't know" is shown separately. Note that the axis endpoints vary by category.
Data is shown first for all working adults, then broken down by age and gender. Subgroup plots include vertical reference lines showing the all-working-adults values for that year.
The summary chart shows a "balance" icon, which is the proportion of worried versus not worried for each year. When the icon is roughly horizontal, the two proportions are nearly equal.
